How is overtime pay calculated?

  • Overtime hourly rate = (total wage ÷ 30 ÷ daily working hours) + 50% × (basic wage ÷ 30 ÷ daily working hours).

FAQs

What is the overtime hourly rate with a basic wage of 8,000 and a total wage of 10,000?

With an 8-hour day: 10,000 ÷ 30 ÷ 8 = 41.67, plus 50% of 8,000 ÷ 30 ÷ 8 = 16.67, so the hourly rate is 58.33 SAR.

Is the 50% calculated on the total or the basic wage?

On the basic wage only, and it is added to the hourly rate calculated from the total wage.
